The John-Vincent Peter Copani Memorial Foundation for the Arts is dedicated to the living memory of John Vincent Copani and all our creative loved ones who have lived with cancer or AIDS. Their untimely passing is The Memorial Foundation for the Arts’ inspiration.
John-Vincent started in the theatre as a volatile teenage actor in epic musical street theater. He subsequently designed lights, built sets, and stage managed productions to develop into a renaissance theatre man.
He envisioned himself a warrior demanding to be at home as he stood at the threshold of life and death. He chose his father, Peter, to be his caretaker during his last brave battle with cancer. The growth experience heightened. The care became compassion. The ever-present, unconditional LOVE became the bonding for father and son. With this living definition of love, Peter clutched John Vincent’s hand as he courageously took his final breath.
Today, John-Vincent lives on through The Memorial Foundation for the Arts as it assists non-profit theatre companies to further their work and develop future productions.
